The 2011 Evangeline Burgess Memorial Lecture Series
Featuring thought leaders in human development and early childhood education
Julie Olsen Edwards, co-author of NAEYC's new Anti-Bias Education for Young Children and Ourselves has been on the Early Childhood Education faculty of Cabrillo College since 1971 and served as Department Chair for 25 of those years. An award-winning writer, editor, and consultant, she has also worked as an elementary school teacher and reading specialist; a Children's Center director; a teacher of infants, toddlers and pre-schoolers; and a family child care home provider. A recipient of many awards, she has served on the national board of NAEYC and numerous committees and commissions. Her work has been imbued with a deep commitment to building a world of justice where children and families can thrive, teachers are honored, and the joy of learning is available to all.
